Interior Wall Panelling
Looking to upgrade an interior space by adding depth and texture? Wall panels are a fantastic way to immediately alter the appearance of your walls with flair and style whilst concealing any imperfections on the wall behind. Traditionally made from wood such as oak, the panelling effect has become easier to achieve in recent years as they can be made from cheaper and easier-to-handle materials such as MDF.
MDF Wall Panel Kits allow you to create a uniformed, precision look with minimal effort, through the use of purpose designed kits available in two styles, Modern and Contemporary.
Acoustic Slatted Panels are purposefully designed to absorb sound and reduce echoes using eco-friendly materials without compromising on style.

MDF Wall Panel Kits
If you are looking to add style, depth and character to your home, our MDF Wall Panel Kits offer a wealth of benefits from aesthetic to practical. Use them to elevate your space with ease, whether you are looking to create a feature wall or panel the entire room, adding another dimension to your walls instantly boosts the character of your room, serving as an interesting focal point.
As well as the aesthetic properties, there is also an abundance of practical benefits. These kits use MDF, a low cost, durable and smooth material that ensures longevity and resilience against wear and tear. MDF also provides an excellent surface for painting or staining, allowing you to achieve your desired look effortlessly.
Whilst MDF is already easy to handle, these kits take convenience to the next level by including pre-cut and pre-measured pieces, making it effortless to achieve your desired effect with minimal effort.
MDF Wall Panel Kits are available in 2 styles: the Modern Wall Panel Kit where one kit covers up to a maximum 2m span, and the Contemporary Wall Panel Kit which covers up to 1.2msq. If the area you are wishing to cover is greater, you can simply use multiple kits to extend your finish.

How do I complete a Wall Panel effect without the kits?
Alternatively, if you are looking to sharpen your DIY skills further, a wall panel effect can be created in a traditional manner without the use of kits. To recreate the effect, you will need to use MDF sheets, wood screws, strong wood glue and a high quality undercoat paint (not sure this is needed) which will allow you to transform your room.
Preparation is key when beginning this DIY task.
-Measure your space and plan out the size of your panelling before beginning cutting.
-Double check your measurements (remembering the adage measure twice, cut once).
-Decide how many panels will work for your room and source the right products
-Cut your MDF sheets to create your panel strips.
-Ensure your walls are ready for the panels to be attached by sanding and smoothing them down if necessary
-Using a spirit level, make sure that the panels are straight and simply attach them to the wall with the adhesive you have chosen. Start with the base panels and follow with the top.
-For extra security, you can use both screws and adhesive to attach to the walls. Remember to use wall plugs to provide a secure base for the screws to be screwed in.
-Fill in any gaps you can see with decorators caulk
- Don’t forget to apply the correct undercoat before you finish your panelled wall and then apply the topcoat colour of your choosing.
If you’re not sure you have a steady enough hand to cut the panels yourself, remember that Alsford has sheet cutting services in all of its branches and can help get your project started, simply included a cutting request with your purchase online, or ask at the counter in any branch.
